Locally-based Microsoft Groove Partner Company - D2i Solutions Ltd- has become the second local high 'tec business to help secure its future by being receiving investment from 3en.
D2i now has the opportunity to invest in commercial and marketing activities in order to capitalise upon the enormous potential that being a Microsoft Groove partner presents.
D2i is led by a sector-experienced management team of Ray Jordan and Rupert Denny and specialises in the provision of professional software and training services to enterprise customers - including the NHS, BOC, Rio Tinto Zinc and Western Isles Council as well as many small to medium sized enterprises.
Groove Virtual Office
Today's information workers need to be self-sufficient and effective, not only within their organizations, but across organizational, geographical and technological boundaries.
They need to be able to share files, projects and data with colleagues, customers and partners - regardless of whether their colleagues are inside or outside the IT infrastructure.
Once workers can collaborate anywhere and anytime, they will begin to recoup much of the time they lose every day finding information and gathering and sharing documents. This recouped time translates to increased productivity.
The decentralized model is becoming increasingly necessary because -- to put it simply --the day of deskbound office work is over.
Microsoft’s Groove allows companies and individuals to combine forces to create anytime, anywhere collaboration for ad-hoc workgroups, and to create “borderless” project teams
The firm's close relationship with Microsoft as one of only three UK partners attracted support from 3en Ventures;
Nick Sharpe, Chief Investment Officer of 3en Ventures, commented, "Given the potential offered within the enterprise sector by Microsoft Groove, growth in sales and profitability is predicted to increase substantially during 2006."
Rupert Denny D2i MD commented: "The motivation to seek venture capital was driven by a realization that the opportunity was simply too large to be met from capital which could be generated within the firm. The process has been complex, and at times quite taxing, but we have received excellent support both from 3en and HSBC and hence developed a complete refinancing package which will meet our capital needs for the foreseeable future."
D2i Commercial Director Ray Jordan added: "3en and HSBC have been focused and encouraging throughout the whole investment process. The pragmatic attitude of both Nick and the HSBC team on both the investment and commercial issues helped drive forward what is inevitably a taxing process."
Rafi Razzak, Chair of 3en Fund Management Ltd commented: "This second investment is again the result of many weeks of detailed planning and negotiation; the Board look forward to a crystallisation of the very real potential which we believe D2i offers with their chosen sector, and the creation of a significant new enterprise and associated job opportunities within the borough of Basingstoke & Deane."
